Said our goodbyes to new friend Sally then headed out to the trail… We met another Sally…82… Prepping for a triathlon, she told us of her adventures of cycling around the world 20 yr. ago.. Her book is called “Mustang Sally”..I was tired today and the steady slow uphill was wearing on me so we stopped for a snack at the “Tool Shed” in Meyersdale…co-owner Andi served us and off we went to the Eastern Continental Divide… Ok I know, it’s not even 3,000′ but it was exciting because we know its all downhill from here!!! 25+ downhill miles to Cumberland MD!
Cycling from Cumberland through Frostburg and on to Grantsville was memorable for the hills…I was on Hwy 40…the National Pike. Enjoy the downhill!
Ouch. We rode it downhill. Nice to have a long easy slide into Cumberland
Oh yeah…got a sense of those hills…they are BIG!
A bit of history today in this leg. Love that
